The Doors erstmals seit Jahren wieder aufgetreten
Los
Angeles (dpa) Zum ersten Mal seit
Zuletzt waren Gitarrist
Robby Krieger, Keyboarder Ray Manzarek und Drummer John Densmore
1993 aufgetreten, als die Doors in die Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
aufgenommen wurden.

VH1 Has Prepared A Doors Celebration Due In Mid-November
THE DOORS: A CELEBRATION, recorded September 26, 2000 at a Los Angeles
soundstage, reunited Robby Krieger, Ray Manzarek and John Densmore
for the first time since the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction
almost a decade ago, was a magical, transcendent event. Ian Astbury
of The Cult, and Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots stole the
show, but Scott Stapp from Creed capped the evening off with a perfect
pitch and attitude all singers showed up, not because they appeared
on the upcoming tribute album STONED IMMACULATE, but because they
were honored to play with their heroes, the musicians known as The
Doors. Perry Farrell was the special guest performer and enchanted
the audience with his version of L.A. Woman and Travis Meeks
of Days Of The New received a standing ovation for his passionate
performance of The End, a song The Doors thought could not
be performed by anybody but Jim Morrison.
Over a dozen songs were recorded and will air
on VH1 Thanksgiving Weekend as a part of the stations Storytellers
series. On the day it airs, VH1 will be dedicating the entire day
to The Doors, broadcasting every home video, their own Legends special,
and the Oliver Stone movie The Doors. Then the celebration
ends and the ceremony begins as the three Doors take the stage and
proceed to set the night on fire. (www.thedoors.com)
