Lot 47 – Jim Morrison handwritten two page lyrics for L.A. Woman

Two pages of handwritten Jim Morrison lyrics for the song L.A. Woman (not titled), consisting of 29 lines, penned in black felt-tip ink on lined notebook paper. Matted with an image of the lizard king performing on stage, framed and glazed. Each page measures approx. 8 x12 inch (20 x 31 cm), overall measurements approx. 31 x 18 inch (79 x 46 cm).

Estimate £ 5,000 – 8,000

A similar page of lyrics from L.A. Woman, from the same collection was previously sold through Butterfield and Butterfield Auction House, USA, in 1998. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the vendor's great uncle, explaining how it was obtained from Morrison.

 

Lot 48 – The Doors business card

A cream and brown business card for the band's Manager Bill Siddons, listing his Los Angeles address, with The Doors on a brown panel up the left hand side. Measures approx. 4 x 2 inch (10 x 5 cm).
